Rollersetting-Take Two

I am so excited that I can now do a roller set! I did my second semi-successful one today. A couple of things I learned this time were:

It's easier for me to roll the side sections (either side of the mohawk) from the back section to the fromt section. I find it easier to place the clips and it's much faster.

On my last set, I did not use the saran wrap. I tried it today, and I personally think my thin tresses look better with the body. It came out a little too straight at the ends, and my hair felt kinda damp after I took off the saran wrap. I'll fix that with pin curls tonight!!

I am going to try the next roller size down next week for a curlier look, and I may be bold enough to try blowing out my roots or flat ironing them so my hair will lay down more (I'm at 8 weeks--things are getting fuzzy up there!)

Here's a thought...I may try placing a plastic cap over the curls to see if I still get that bling. Hmmm.

Congratulations!

I still need to work on learning to do rollersets rather than blow drying and using the curling iron. I used to do them when I was a teenager...many years ago.

Congrats! I too pincurled my hair at night after I did the saran wrap, and my hair came out curly just like a fresh rollerset.

Your hair sounds like my hair  I think the rollerwrap is a great method, but I found that my extremely thick hair isn't happy when I try to make it lay really flat. It looks better when I work with the fact that it's thick, not against it.

Also, my sets look better when I started using the medium sized rollers instead of trying to use the large ones.

Oh yeah, and I also just flat iron my roots. I can airdry my set and flat iron my roots and my hair will look like a winner!
