rollersetting more than once a wk

Yep! Plenty of us rollerset twice a week regularly. I would say that you shouldn't make it a habit to follow your rollersets with a flat-iron. Direct heat twice a week could cause heat damage, but in my experience, the hood dryer is fine.

I third that! a hooded dryer is indirect heat so doesn't damage hair as easily as blow dryers or flat irons. I think that a heat protectant should be used with any amount of heat to be on the safe side.

I'm fourth-ing what Solitude said. Even at five months post, I still wash, deep condition, and set my hair twice a week.

When my hair was at its longest, healthiest, shiniest, and thickest, I credit it to precisely rollersetting 2x a week. At the moment, I'm protecting my hair until I hit APL again, but once there.... then back to regular rollersetting I go. :yep: My best friend had been having issues stuck at APL for over a year. She stopped the Dominican salon visits and started rollersetting on her own and now her hair is well to WL and she says it hadn't been that long, healthy and thick since her childhood. I can't wait to get back to that regimen.

Albane rollersets her hair twice a week. And it's very healthy. I don't think its a problem.

I recently did a search on that (rollersetting twice a week) and most members did not have a problem with that (some did experience breakage with rollersetting but IMHO it has more to do with your hair's health than with the actual technique).

I rollerset faithfully once a week but sometimes I do it twice with no problem at all(specially now with my Pibbs). What I do then is to flat iron roots only if I'm wearing it out but then next time I don't flat iron the roots and I'll wear it up.

When I first started I rollerset my hair twice weekly religiously and my hair flourished. These days I'm more lazy and only do it once a week. I don't get any breakage.

You guys are inspiring me to stop being lazy and rollerset my hair more. If only it just didn't take sooooo long

Once you have the technique down you will reduce your rollersetting time. Right now it takes me 20 minutes, sometimes less (and I use a loooot of rollers as I make thin parts for each roller, or so my mom and my friend complain). Practice, practice, practice. In my opinion, there's nothing better for relaxed hair.

Just chiming in to say that I rollerset once a week and my hair is healthy, thick, and bouncy. I have very few broken hairs. I'm def. going to rollerset from here on out. And when I'm crunched for time I just do a ponytail rollerset and it comes out just as nice.

I use my caruso curlers all the time. I think my hair actually might be healthier because of the steam. Except I really think you should use curler papers and I haven't been and I think I regret it.
