Advise me, by looking at the pic in my sig..

What color rollers should I be using..

I think Im using rollers that are too big ..

Im using purple..

Hi Khandi I would say that the purple one are fine for your length of hair. If you want tighter curls I would suggest using one size down I think that's the red ones. HTH

Hi Khandi,
If you want a tight curly look, I would go with green rollers (I think they are the red or blue ones in the picture below, my JetSet green ones are not as small as the green on the website http://www.oliviagarden.com/jetset.htm). If you are wanting to blow your hair out straight after rollersetting, then I would use the purple.

I am referring to JetSet rollers:
red.gif
1 1/4"
light-blue.gif
1 3/4"
dark-blue.gif
2 1/8"

They also have this demo & chart:

Yes, I swear by JetSet! All of the salons in Bermuda use them. I even have my own stash at home!

I think I would like to try these rollers. Do you have to use roller pins or clips to secure the rollers? Do you order them online? Do you have any breakage when you use them? TIA

Hi Nikki,
Yes, you have to use pins to secure the rollers. You can order them online, but I have seen them in Sally's. They may not be called JetSet, but they look exactly like the ones posted. They usually come in packs of three. I never have breakage.

I wish I had pictures of my rollersets with them, I always get sooo many compliments. I set with lottabody and they last for days. I will have to wait till I go home to Bermuda to take pics, as I left them there because I can't rollerset my own hair, and I don't know any salons here that use them. But I definitley prefer them to over magnetic rollers.

The magnetics rollers make the curls crispy, and not touchable. I also find them harder to roll peoples hair with. The curls just look better in my opinion, like how JLo's rollersets look, and other celebrities. My hair has more body, volume, and bounce/movement. I don't get that with magnetic rollers. Also, I think it dries faster as well. I usually just press the roots in the front, and leave it.

No, they are not like velcro rollers, more like a firm plastic with grips.

I guess I am more partial because that's what I was raised using, and it never fails. :)

Also, to anyone who's interested, there is a lisiting on e-bay for some that ends in an hour: http://cgi.ebay.com/JET-SET-EZ-GRIP...ryZ36407QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, another that ends in april: http://cgi.ebay.com/Jet-Set-EZ-Grip...ryZ36407QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Khandi, I don't have any rollerset advice because that's an area where I need help. I just want to say your hair is so pretty. It's really thick and healthy.

bump!

has anyone gotten these rollers, and does the little grip surface rip out your hair??

Thanks so much!

Bree, I have these Jet set rollers, I purchased them about 4-5 years ago. The first time I tried them, I loved the ease in being able to do a roller set on my hair. Fast, simple, and forgiving. The problem I had with my 3b, 3c, 4 a fine hair was in removing them.

No matter how delecately I tried to remove the roller, I still felt that they pulled out way too much of my hair! I stashed them in the back of a closet, but pulled them out a few days ago after reading these good reviews ( I wanted to double check that I had the same rollers).

Now, I want to try them again, especially since I just did my 1st very successfull roller set with magnetic rollers last week. I am willing to try once more. I have the "professional value 22 piece set" with 3 different sizes the red, blue, and very large pink. If they work I will replace the smaller sizes with new larger ones. If these don't work for me, well another Goodwill donation...

I want to ask other ladies- do you use end papers with these? I wonder if the end papers would help to prevent snagging my ends when I unroll the rollers?

Hey Raven Sunshine,
I never use endpapers with these. My hair is very fine too. I am shocked that they pulled so much of your hair out. Maybe when you try this time, try not to get your hair too close to the edges of the rollers. Hopefully that will help you a bit

As in bobby pins? I've also seen little plastic clips next to the bobby pins in Sally's. Does anyone know if either of those will work? Thanks.

Mis Bermuda!!! I owe you a sincere Thank You!!! A few weeks ago I respnded to this post sounding somewhat skeptical about Jetset rollers, some years back I tried them and was so dissapointed bc they pulled my hair and I noticed breakage. You suggested I try them again and avoid the edges.

Well, I did. I tried them, and I even went out and purchased 3 pks of the very large light green ones to add to the set I already own. I also purchased the Belson ionic bonnet dryer- the one that looks as if you could speed away to Mars.
Oh, wow, I am now a roller-setter for life!! I had been using the wet to dry T3 flat iron, but over the past year, my hair has grown, increasing my time from doing my hair from 35mins to nearly 1hour. Yes, that's good, my hair really grew, but I was back up to my old time from my blowdrying days.

Ok, so I quickly set my hair on these rollers (pink, light green, and two purple up front), I think I used 13 rollers total. It was a rush job, and I didn't even use a rat tailed comb to part my hair, just finger parted and combed through, placed the roller and went on to the next. Finished under ten mins. Sat under the new dryer. It fit nicely even over the large rollers. Dried myhair for 10 mins on high, then 2 mins on cool, and 5 mins on high again. I checked a roller- and BEHOLD my hair was dry!!!! I was floored!! After removing all the rollers, I used a warm flat iron to smooth out my wavy roots- I didn't pull the rollers tight. Maybe spent five mins doing this. Total under 35mins!! Unbelievable!! My hair looks every bit as nice as when I spend an hour doing the flat ironing!!

Thank you!!

OMG....I have these and had the same problem about 4-5 years ago. I think I'll add some green ones to my collection and give them another try as well!

PS I almost threw them out

I would like to know this as well. I have these rollers- I finally was able to get them to cooperate kinda, the other night- but my roots were huge. I am not thaaat much post my last relaxer (well for me I'm not- maybe 6 weeks). I had nice curls on the ends of my hair, and surprisingly it was relatively smooth throughout, thanks to macherieamour's tip of setting hair with hair that is dripping wet.

BUT....my roots were huge, all throughout. I dont want to have to wax my roots with the flat iron after rollersetting, as it takes some of the body away. Help!
