to keep the ends straight and smooth? I'm wondering because my ends tend to curl up.

Yes, A friend had it done at a salon a few weeks ago after a shampoo and deep condition. It was done not to "curl" the hair but to soften the texture and make her hair a little more manageble.

I think it would be nearly impossible w/my 4b hair. My hair is so thickk, snaps back and curls so tightly you would have to do the smallest parts possible and couldn't fit all those rollers to cover the whole head. Gotta see it to beleive it...

I started a thread on this topic on the summer. My ends don't get perfectly straight and smooth. I don't know how to get my ends straight on the roller. Your hair is suppose to be soaking wet when you roll, but that makes my hair want to curl up. With practice I've gotten better, but it doesnt look likea 3c or relaxed rollerset

My hair is the exact same way!! So...I tried it and on the first piece of hair I realized it wasn't going down like that :lachen: Now I'm twisting and will be twisting for the next few hours. Oh well...

Thanks for the update! I'm waiting to hear from a 4b who has successfully done this...Should be interesting :>)

Yes, ma'am! I'm a 4a/b... I've rollerset my hair a few times and it turned out pretty nice... The trick is to make sure your hair is sopping wet. I used styling foam to help set the hair. I also use the magnetic rollers (the ones with the caps on them) it keeps the hair smooth as it dries. make sure your hair is detangled well, I add styling foam as i roll each section. As you work your way over your entire head you may need to wet your hair some more if it starts to dry so keep a water bottle handy.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of my latest roller set but @Janet' has one.. maybe she will post it for me! :-)

I hope this helps.
