Alright, ladies I'm currently working on achieving more growth and am currently doing just rollersetting over a three month time period straight. I will only relax and use heat maybe once a month. I am curious to know did anyone find that their hair grew more with just rollersetting alone.

What did it do for your hair?
Did it help you retain length or was it just a good moisturizer for your hair.

Currently at this time I'm using silk elements to wash and conditioner my hair and so far that has been working for me. I have used other products but, I have been trying to stick to one brand at a time for wash and conditoning. I would like to know what did you wonders for your hair in the shampoo and conditioner line? I'm on a budget right now so I'm hoping to find something not too expensive that will do a good job on my hair.

Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated as I plan to see a remarkable difference in my hair over the next three months. I don't know how much growth I will obtain but, I do know since I've been here on LHCF I have brought alot of life back to my hair.

I was also wondering how come my hair has lightened so much and I don't have any color in my hair? I haven't been applying any heat to it but, I noticed the lightining of my hair during the winter so I'm not sure if it really has to do with the season. I haven't updated my fotki just yet and my other pc has all of my pics on it (just moved and its still boxed up). I will be updating my fotki soon but, there is a tremendous difference and it looks like I really had someone highlight or color my hair as the brown appears to be much more brighter.

Alright , I know this one is a long one and if anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know. I will be coming back to this thread but, I dont have access to LHCF so I will definitely respond when I get back home.

Thanks alot.

I get my hair hair poo, DC, rollerset, with roots blown out once a week and it has been very good for my hair. So I am a big fan of rollersetting. Now I had the same issue with my hair lighting up and it was caused by the relaxer that my old stylist was using. Now I absolutely do not relax before 7 or 8 weeks and I bring my own relaxer (Affirm Fiberguard).

Rollersitting, has helped me to retain growth, as well as health, I have not used direct hit from a blowdryer in over 2 years, I also find the rollersitting smooths my newgrowth which allows me to stretch my relaxers out 12 weeks or more, last year I had a relaxer 3 times, and it has made a huge differance, hoping to do this again, I found my hair got lighter from the sun, even though this time around it got lighter because I got highlights, hth

I think rollersetting does add to the growth factor. My hair is getting much longer, stronger and thicker because I think I am using hardly any heat!

I too have heard that rollersetting contributes to growth, that is one of the reasons why I am making the switch from bunning. I also noticed that a lot of ladies on this board who rollerset all the time, have beautiful long healthy looking hair.

Also, I remember a couple of months ago, I had a conversation with a stylist at the JC Penny salon--I go there to pick up my Phyto Organics. She told me that rollersetting my hair would smooth out my strands and my hair would grow still continue to grow. This was after I told her that I had been bunning for a couple of years to obtain the length I have.

I sorta felt like she just wanted my business. But little did she know that if I ever believe anything they say, I'd do it myself... I dont do stylists:lol:

roller setting is the one thing that has got my hair back on a healthy track. I have to agree as well.

I dont think rollersetting has made my hair grow but it has surely help keep it thick and moist when I wear my hair out. I owe my resent growth to protective styles.

I got substantial growth/length retention from rollersetting alone. My hair was in extremely poor condition until I finally found a stylist that would care properly for my hair. When I finally found her, I wore braids for awhile, then began strictly doing rollersets and relaxers every 8-10 weeks (occassionally longer). Besides bad relaxers, heat was my main enemy, and I found that rollersetting made a world of difference, not only because I wasn't applying heat to my hair, but also because I was handling my hair significantly less - basically only wrapping nightly and combing down . I got a rollerset every two weeks, and for about 3 years, my hair was nothing but healthy and strong. I didn't take any type of vitamins or growth aids. I've experienced some breakage recently, and have determined that it was mostly likely due to not moisturizing properly, as well as my poor, poor diet. :(

Keracare products did great things for my hair. I still use them at home, but recently the hairdresser switched to Nairobi products. I think that I like it OK, but so far I prefer the results I acheived w/ Keracare. The Keracare line isn't very expensive, and a little goes a long way for me.
