rollerset question

my hair is 6-8 inches long and i want a spiral look. I have Jheri curl type rods and decided to use a leave in or just water instead of setting lotion. my question is what direction do i roll my hair. all back? i'm going for the straw set look can i do this with rods?

When I want a sprial look I use smaller rollers and when I take the rollers out...I take them out pulling straight down...that is probably confusing but it is the only way I can think to describe it. You can look in my album 2004 for an example of my sprial look. Hope this helps

thanks cause my last roller set was in 95 and if you look in my album it looks like a dry jheri curl. not trying to do that again.
