I apologize ahead of time for my ignorance, I'm new here.

I would like to begin rollersetting my instead of flat iron but I am not sure I can do that. The front of my hair isn't that long and my roots are a little more than 1 inch long of new growth. Will my roots still be bushy? What I use to make sure they go straight? All suggestions welcomed. Thank you LHCF!

I'm new as well. But I see that macherieamour is one of the roller set experts. She even created a DVD on rollersetting on her personal hair care website. Based on her hair..it looks like she knows what she is doing:yep: healthytextures.typepad.com? i think

when you have new growth, to get the roots straight roll up, not down.

then, it's important that you comb the hair from the root FLAT AGAINST THE SCALP instead of combing up when you're going to set your roller. is that clear? hard to explain.

so, for instance, if you're going to do the front part of your hair --where bangs would be-- combing flat would mean instead of combing that section straight up from your head like an antenna, you'd comb out away from your head like a visor/hat brim. ok? make sure to comb this way from the roots.

the only way to safely comb from roots is to detangle using a great conditioner or rinse, and detangle from ends up. then the comb should glide right through.
