How did you know when to move up roller sizes? I'm hovering near APL and I'm trying to figure out if I need to move up sizes. I currently use the golden and red ones. They gray ones seem really lagre, so I'm slightly intimidated. What to do????

It depends on the size of the curl that you want. If the roller size that you are currently using gives you curls that are too tight, then you can move up a size. With magnetic rollers, I believe that the purple ones are the next size up from red, then the gray.

I use various roller sizes depending on the style that I want. For example, I may use red for a curly style or gray (or the largest size that will stay in my head) if I'm just tryna straighten.

I don't think I've ever seen the purple ones. Are they larger than the gray ones?

Thanks, I think I will try the gray ones for the straight look.

Red, 1 and 1/2 inch
purple, 1 and 3/4th inch
Gray, 2 inches
Black, 2 and 1/2 inch

So the answer to your question is that purple rollers are smaller than the gray ones. But if you are moving up from red, the next step is purple.

If I want a straight look, I use grey rollers. If i want it color then I'm going to use purple rollers. However, when I got my relaxer, my hairdresser used the big green ones on me before she flatironed and it only took me an hour to dry under the dryer and that was GREAT. I think, from what I see of your hair. Grey will give you fast drying time but still give you bounce.
