Does anyone know how long it should take to rinse out conditioner? 30 seconds? 1 minute? I know that it probably depends upon the thickness of the conditioner. Sometimes I think that I rinse my hair out too long, just trying to make sure that it's all out. How long on average does it take you ladies to rinse out your hair conditioner?

You really don't want to rinse it all out. You want to rinse most of it...leaving trace amounts (unless you use a leave in)

Remember rinse in cool water. I do a final rinse with cold (no hot mixed in)...it seals the cuticle, hot opens the cuticle.

I don't rinse long when I rinse the conditioner out (even though I do use a leave-in afterwards). I always rinse a LONG time to get the shampoo out though.

So maybe I have been taking too long to rinse out my conditioner. I won't rinse for as long the next time and see what happens. Thanks for the responses.

If its a protein conditioner then I'll take at least one full minute to thoroughly rinse it all out. With moisturizing conditioners I rinse but not as thoroughly or as long since I'm also thinking the slight residue won't hurt.

hm....thanks tekmommie for this piece of info. I feel like I'm back in science again. lol That is pretty interesting.......

If the conditioner contains high levelsof protien you might want to rince throughly to prevent drieness that causes breakage these should be washed out for approximately 3 mins to make sure all the protein is washed out. BUT IF YOU HAVE TRY HAIR AND using a moisturinzing conditioner then you might want to rinse out and leave back a small amount. BUT IFYOUR HAIR IS FINE AND EASY TO BECOME LIMP THEN TRY WASHING OUT ALL THE MOISTURING CONDITIONER FOR A GOOD 2 MINS AS THE EXTRA MOISTURE CAN LIMP HAIR THAT IS EASILY WEIGHED DONE.SO YOURHAIR TEXTURE HAS A BIG EFFECT WITH THIS TRY EXPERIMENTING TO SEE THE EFFECT WITH THE MOISTURIZING CONDITIONER BUT NOT THEPROTEIN CONDITIONER

Cindy, I rinse out my condtioner for at least 5 seconds. I agree with everyone; don't rinse all the conditioner out, just leave a film of it throughout the hair, especially the ends. A lightweight conditioner that's left on the hair doesn't hurt at all. I usually spray Infusium 23 leave-in after I rinse some of the conditioner out. It made my hair soft and moisturized. Toodles.

Wow!! I did not know this at all. I have definitely been washing out all of my conditioner. I know better now!! Thanks ladies!!
