Anybody out there that does this while washing their hair in braids? I'm thinking that you could put the DC on dry hair, braid loosely, and let sit. Then, rinse (still in braids) in the shower and shampoo....:scratchch

Also, how many of you do a light conditioning after the shampoo? Do you use your DC for a few minutes, or just use a cheapie conditioner?
this is exactly what I do
I remember reading that shampooing after DC is better for thin hair because the hair does not become so weighed down with product

This sounds good I never thought to follow up with a regular con. I'm going to have to give this a try when I come out of braids.

I love doing this.

DC on dry hair. Put on shower cap. Go to sleep.

Workout Saturday AM. Jump in shower--leave the shower cap & DC mixture on the hair. Detangle.

Head to the salon.

I do this--because the salon will charge me $10-20 for a deep condition. And my detangled hair helps the stylist, as well.

Great idea. Thats why I do my own perms then head to the salon for a rollerset. Great way to save money.

Exactly! It's a time saver and a money saver and it WORKS! The dominicans always tell me my hair feels so soft because of my pre-poos.

I DC on dry hair for a full day or a few hours sometimes I even DC for about 24 hours:look: and then I shampoo.
I had no idea it's supposed to be the other way around:lol:

This all sounds so interesting. I am so gonna try this on my next poo day. Can some of you ladies share what poos and conditioners you're using?
I'm thinking of using keracare humecto on dry hair for about 30-60 minutes. Poo with keracare hydrating and then conditioning with mane n tail for a few minues. How does that sound? I don't wanna be screwing up my flow, however I wanna see if results are better this way.
Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks LOL for starting this thread too:thumbsup:

Hey there. I am gonna DC with Silicon Mix and/or Keraphix +Oil and poo with CON.:D

I have been doing this for quite a while and it's great. What i do is pre-poo with AB Hair mayo than shampoo (lather only once cause i don't wanna strip the conditioner out) after that i use a cheapie conitioner like suave humectant or suave biobasics. If I really have to deep condition I use something like NTM mask. That left my hair so moisturized. Nowadays i do this kinda different. Since i have so many cholesterols, i use these as my pre-poos. It's still very effective.

that defeats the purpose for me. i deep condition to replenish the nutrients that are stripped away from my hair by shampooing.

I tried this Saturday on dry hair. Yuck , my hair felt coated and didn't detangle well at all. I had to clarify and re-wash it yesterday. Maybe I'll try it on wet hair next time.

Who does this?

Any neg/pos. effects to your hair? Likes or Dislikes?

I was thinking about trying it. I hate getting in and out of the shower, plus I love the way CON poo makes my hair feel and I can't for the life of me find a conditioner that does the same.

I'd say try it(deep con and then poo) to see if it works to your liking.

I also hate getting back in the shower after deep conditioning, at first it wasn't a big deal but then I felt like it was so time consuming.. This is what I do though... now after my poo, I finish my shower and apply the dc on my hair and cover with a plastic cap.. get dressed and then get under the dryer...then after I am through with the dryer.. I go ahead and rinse out my deep con. in the kitchen sink:eek: ...yes the kitchen sink.. then I follow with a rinse out conditioner help detangle and while doing this, I am already dressed in my pajamas and ready for bed!! I avoid most tangles by using Optimum tangle defense leave in spray and let it sit before combing and styling.

I did this Saturday and I most say that I was quick surprise how well my hair felt afterward. I am going to try it a couple of more times before making the final decision but right now I am happy with it.

those that deep condition first, do you use heat on your hair--hooded dryer?

or, do you just sleep in it or keep it in for several hours? i always thought a deep conditioner must penetrate hair shaft through heat.

Although I don't deep con. first, I always use heat(dome dryer). My directions actually said it must be used with heat.

Hmmm....THis sounds like it would work great...I can see how a DC would penetrate dry hair better b/c water molecules [are so large that they] would act as a barrier? I was thinking about this the other night as I need to find a better way to deal with my hair when I am stretching. I was think plaits: slathering my plaits with condish, adding a lil heat, then rinsing and poo'ing...(maybe with a detangling 'poo)...

I either sit under the hood dryer for about 20 minutes, or I leave it on without heat a little while before washing out.

GIRL, what are we twins? lol I was thinking the exact same thing.

I dont understand still. So you deep condition then shampoo and then condition again right? And for the first conditioner, what do you use, a protein or a moisturizing conditioner? Sorry if Im a little slow :D

Same here. I tried it yesterday (with Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose). I slathered this on my dry hair, put on a plastic cap, and wrapped my head with a hot, damp towel. I think I left it on for 40 minutes. I shampooed with CON (red label - sulfate free poo) and I did a final rinse out with Mane N Tail conditioner. My hair felt like it usually does when I DC the "other" way - which is to say, it felt good! Plus, I didn't have to go in & out of the shower.:) I'm going to try this a few more times with other conditioners, and use my hooded dryer as the heat source.

BUMP I wanna now too:grin:

I have been doing this for a few months and so far so good. First I wet the hair, put in conditioner and apply heat to penetrate. Next, I shampoo and apply a creme detangler while rinsing. This saves time and I get the same results.
