Who does this?

Any neg/pos. effects to your hair? Likes or Dislikes?

I was thinking about trying it. I hate getting in and out of the shower, plus I love the way CON poo makes my hair feel and I can't for the life of me find a conditioner that does the same.

I do this, it is very good. It kills two birds at one time because you only have to get in the shower once instead of twice to rinse. I do a light conditioning afterwards to so it is Deep Condition, followed by shampoo, followed by conditioner.:)

This is the only way I DC as well. Some prepoos are done with oil only but when I want to DC....I use conditioner instead.

I do this only if I'm doing a protein conditioning treatment. There are some threads on this protein technique. Then I shampoo it out and DC, then rinse that out. I'm still in the shower twice.

I used to only do this- saved time- i've started DCing on wet hair. For me both give me the same results. Although now i Henna-wash-DC

Are you guys deep conditioning on dry hair? I know Aubrey's GPB and other Aubrey's conditioners directions say to deep condition on dry hair. I was curious if you guys are using other conditioners and doing it on dry hair? Thanks.

Its so ironic that you're posting this because I just read in a magazine last night that conditioners absorb better and are more effective on dry hair than wet. The magazine suggested to condition, then shampoo wash. I will be shampooing today so I'll do as Trimbride suggested.

I've done this once or twice, can't remember how it turned out. It would be a great timesaver, though! I'd try it today, but I need clarify and do a protein treatment.

I've been doing this for years and years. It's the only way I can detangle my hair because the conditioners aren't enough to help me detangle. I add a little bit of CON shampoo while I'm in the shower and comb through.

Yep, same here.

You might be on to something, because when I pre shampoo with conditoner on dry hair, It's very moisturized. I after force myself to shampoo it.

Do you remember what magazine this was in?

In my personal experience my deep conditioners does absorb better on dry hair too.

This is how I am going to do it.

Every other week, I DC on dry hair and I don't shampoo AT ALL. LOL! This I will never give up. It makes my hair so soft and detangled.

Anybody out there that does this while washing their hair in braids? I'm thinking that you could put the DC on dry hair, braid loosely, and let sit. Then, rinse (still in braids) in the shower and shampoo....:scratchch

Also, how many of you do a light conditioning after the shampoo? Do you use your DC for a few minutes, or just use a cheapie conditioner?

I tried braids once and it actually made my hair a little bit MORE tangled. So I can't help you there. But a lot of people love washing in braids...

But a few ladies say they use a conditioner after shampooing. I am just going to try DCing on dry hair, then lightly pooing with CON shampoo (one time) and combing the shampoo/rinsing with my jilbere comb in the shower.

Then I will just add my leave-ins and such.

Sounds like a plan. I guess I'll have to experiment. I'm so "conditioned" (no pun intended) to use conditioner after a shampoo, it would feel strange not to do it anymore - even if I DC on dry hair. My only concern is that CON (green label) is the only shampoo I have that helps me detangle, and I don't use it for every wash. I do have a couple Dominican rinses that are great for post-wash detangling, so I could revisit those.

This is exactly what I do. I do my pre-poo/deep conditioning on dry hair, braid up, shampoo and then re-condition in the shower, comb & detangle.

I love deep conditioning on dry hair, I can't be bothered with hopping in and out of the shower. Also I use sulfate free poos, so the conditioning isn't stripped out of my hair anyway.

Me too. I am wondering if this will hurt me anyhow... I guess I won't know usless I try. I will ponder it all week until wash day.

Me too. CON is sulfate free, and I barely even lather up so I figure it won't hurt.

Thanks Priestess, I was waiting for you to show up with some advice. I'm sick to death of jumping in and out of the shower. What do you use as your 2nd conditioner, a rinse-out type condish?

Ha ha, I'm good for throwing my 2 cents in!

That's right, I use good rinse out conditioners that condition and help detangle. :)

Throw a dog some bones. Which ones are the most detangling?

O yesss! I will do this from now on because I couldnt stand hopping in and out of the shower like the other ladies said. Just this last time I deep conditioned I thought "is there another way? this is annoying the hell outta me" But thank goodness I came to this thread.

I love doing this.

DC on dry hair. Put on shower cap. Go to sleep.

Workout Saturday AM. Jump in shower--leave the shower cap & DC mixture on the hair. Detangle.

Head to the salon.

I do this--because the salon will charge me $10-20 for a deep condition. And my detangled hair helps the stylist, as well.
