I think I do fairly well. I just do twistouts/braidouts daily. I wash once a week with Giovanni shampoo in large twists. Then I d/c with Aubrey Organics w/o heat. Then I wash that out and put my hair in a few twists to let it airdry a bit. Then I twist and go to sleep! I retwist nightly as well. I twist with Qhemets Twist butter.

I've only been natural for a year. But I did BC down to 1/8 inch....

Anyways, all I do is braidouts and i've retained all of my length. My hair works great with braidouts.

I don't really have a regimen. I just keep it simple by washing, conditioning, and moisturizing when needed.

I've gotten decent retention with braidouts/twistouts daily but I'm protective styling more this year to see if it makes a difference

The 1st 10 months I did braidiuts & as pretty as they were, I didn't retain anything. I guess because the end of my braids rubbed against the back if my clothing. smh. Pretty sure you can retain if your braids don't reach your shoulders, I guess.
