Since I've been doing co washes every other day and washing my hair every 4 days my hair is growing quickly. What I want to know is because my hair is short it seems I need to retouch every 6 weeks or sooner what do u ladies recommend that I do to go longer than 6 weeks? My hair is finally touching the end of my ears, but my back is the shortest because of the stlye I had it cut in. Also how often should I relax my kitchen? It's really growing in that area.

Thanks in advance to all the reponses!

Hi, Congratulations on your new growth sweety!!!! Your hair will be back length before you know it if you continue with this regimen!!!! I have been doing the co washes and i too have been noticing a lot of new growth, i made a vow to myself to start touching up my hair every 2 months instead of 6 weeks..... do you use oils on your hair? if you want to stretch out a perm i suggest wild growth hair oil, it really tamed my edges (which are the most prone to curling up before perm time). It's funny that you mention perming kitchen hair before your next perm time, cuz i was thinking about my kitchen and edges and why they are so much shorter than the rest of my hair and why they never seem to grow but they must be because of the curlies i get..... i think my problem was relaxing too frequently.... i stopped relaxing the edges and kitchen between relaxers and my hairline edges front and back looks a lot healthier!!! but i hope this suggestion helps.... You grow girl!!!

Thanks Crystal the oil I use is Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil, but I'm waiting for my Mono Oil to arrive. My kitchen is growing like crazy and a stylist told me since the style I had my hair cut in ( my back was completely shaved and so was my sides) that the shorter your hair is the sooner you'll need a touch up because you can see it more. She also told me the longer my hair gets I can hide the need for a retouch better. I wrap my hair every night and I use my Caruso Hairsetter and that helps, but maybe I'll try WGO after I see how the Mono Oil works and I've read were it really helps new growth

jellynote, i'm glad you're seeing progress in those areas, but i would definitely not relax sooner than 8 weeks. it may be easier to deal with relaxing every 6 weeks, but i don't think it will make your hair healthier. and i know that you don't want longer, unhealthy hair!

i think you should find no heat styles that can work with your new cut. find products that will soften the new growth and accentuate the curls. it will be hard to wait trying to keep the nape area straight. work with it the way it is naturally at least until you have enough new growth. that way you don't end up re-relaxing the other hair and causing damage.
