I heard that this is not a good idea but I always thought it was a superstition but I have noticed in the past that my hair does not get as straight during those times.

I want to relax my hair for the NY meet-up on Sun but I don't want any issues.

Anyone heard of this? Could it be hormone related?

Hey!! I like seeing you in the Hair Care section because you never seem to get over here!

Anyway, I have heard this before but it does not stop me.

But, I can say that the week before my period, I get a MAJOR growth spurt. I actually look forward to it.

My touchups are now scheduled around my period. I do it after every other period because of the spurt.

:lachen: Hi HoneyDew! I am rarely over here anymore:look: The OT has been off the chain lately:lol:

I actually decided to do a search and found this thread from ages ago:)

It's full of great info, I think I will wait, I remember the last time I relaxed my head was on fire! I do think my hair has grown a great deal this week and that would explain it;)

I usually don't do anything out of the ordinary while on my period. My skin goes insane and it's just easier to wait rather than run the risk of getting a mystery rash or other problem.
