Okay Ladies, I hope I'm not becoming a pain in the butt with all my questions, but heres another one.

I usually use the Linange Relaxer system and I love it, my hair loves it. I started using it in November. First time I've ever used lye. I usually relax every 6-8 weeks. I have tried to go longer, but when I do, I lose hair!!

Anywhoo, I co-washed Wed. and I know I need to wait at least 4 days before I can relax, so I plan on relaxing tomorrow(upcoming wed. will be 8 weeks). I just looked in my stash and I have no relaxer at all!!! So, ladies please tell me if it's safe to use another brand and if so, what should I use. I'm on my way to Sally's for some other stuff and plan on stopping @ a Beauty Supply store as well.

Thank you
Tanya

I'd say wait and get your known to be true, nothing drastic is going to happen but you might not process the same :) So Stick with what you know and love.

Thanks Ladies. Unfortunately, if I wait any longer, my hair may kick my butt. It starts rebelling usually after 7 weeks. The company I order from sometimes takes their sweet time and I dont want to lose any hair waiting for them.

I recently used Linange for the first time and I'm sold. I won't be using anything else, unless they stop making it. So, if you feel that you need to use another brand- just be very careful. It will probably process much differently so pay attention to how your hair texture is breaking down during processing.

I was using Silk Elements (SE) mile lye, but switched to Linange because the SE caused me to shed so badly. So proceed with a new relaxer with caution.

I've heard ORS lye is good but I've never used it. Perhaps you could do a quick search in the self-relaxers support thread.

FYI: I dont' know where you get your Linange from, but I ordered my Linange from bluebeez.com and it came to me within 4 or 5 days.

Good luck with whatever you decide!:yep:

Okay, here goes.... my name is Tanya and I'm a product junkie :perplexed
After all day long going completely insane over my loved relaxer, I went out to Sally's to get some other products to try to combat my dryness. I came home and looked again through my massive stash and lo and behold a whole jar of Linange relaxer. I have way to many products.

So my stash from Sally's that I bought yesterday consists of:
Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finishing Lotion
2 Bottles of ORS Replenshing Conditioner
Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol Conditioning Treatment
2 jars of Queen Helene Cholesterol
Elasta QP Leave-in H2
Aphogee Two-Step Protein
Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer
One 'n Only Argan Oil

I would suggest waiting but if you can't, do a patch test. I was planning to switch from Phyto II to Mizani Butterblends and I decided to do a patch test in the back. I am so glad that I did! Let's just say that the results were NOT good. :nono:
