first off, this is my first post... its been a pleasure reading all these topics and info over the last few months... My hair told me to tell all of you thank you !!
here is my question...
I've been stretching since January, and i think that it may be time for a new relaxer! its like, i keep seeing, and feeling all this newgrowth, but my hair is at the exact same length before i started "taking care" of my hair. I think its because of serious breakage. I pre poo, con wash, sleep in a satin bonnet, limit my heat, dust as needed, take my vitamins (ultra thick hair shake, ultra thick hair vitamins, Biotin, Vitamin B complex) drink plenty of water, and i've even upped my protien intake this past month. but i think my rate of breaking is faster than my rate of growing.
I know my hair is trying, because of the newgrowth... but i also notice that no matter what i do, everyday in the shower, in my brush or comb, over my bathroom sink, and in the floor, i see my hair breaking off... i've read other ladies on this forum say things like their hair was breaking because they stretch too long, and i think that may be the case for me to, as i dont remeber it breaking this much before. (in some areas, like at my nape or temples, its broken off to about 2 to 3 inches... somthing its never done before
)
since i'm on a budget, i cant afford to go to a salon right now (and after reading some of yalls post, i dont think i trust the salon anymore anyway) so if you ladies would please recommend a great (gentle, safe?)relaxer i can buy and do myself, i would be so thankfull!
