Hey gals, I touched up today... after 10.5 weeks. Thursday would have made it 11 weeks post. My aunt did my touch-up. She usually does it, although my mom does it sometimes too. I prefer it when my mom does it. I'm feeling sad
I need to learn to better prepare myself for the touch-up. I let my hair dry-out, basically, and then i applied the Vaseline and stuff, but my stubborn aunt kinda ripped through my hair with a small comb before putting the relaxer. She always used to do that, but I never thought anything of it. This is only my firt relaxer since i've been a LHCF member. When she washed it out, I lost a LOT of hair!
I was like OMG... but then again, I've always lost a lot of hair when I'm washing out my relaxer but now that I care, every strand matters a heck of a lot to me!
I also think i'm overprocessed. Before coming to LHCF, I always thought hair was supposed to be relaxed bone straight. I have no problem with the bone straight look, and I thought the reason why my hair felt so limp when i'm washing the perm out was because my hair isn't naturally coarse.
So anyway, I really thought it was ALL going to fall out... but it didn't THANK GOD! :Rose: I felt that same way the last two times I got a touch up, in December and March. I really wanted to cry and I kept praying that it wouldnt' all fall out. I did think, if it does fall out, i'm going natural, lol
the only good thing among all this is that my hair is longer. at 10.5 weeks, it seemeed like I had over 1.5". I"m not sure yet, I haven't measured, b/c it's still kinda wet and i'll wait till it airdries, then I can give an estimate. I do belive i'm 1" from bra-strap now though... i'll let ya'll know later.
I"m stretching for 14 weeks this time, since I didnt stretch for 12 weeks before this touch-up so that I stay on schedule and i'm going to need help stretching that long, and keep my hair moist and manageable for the ACTUAL DAY of the relaxer so that I don't have anyone ripping thru my hair. Help me ladies! please!
