I want to use less direct heat on my hair... none at all if possible. (At least until my hair is in better health) But I just realized how much of a pain in the butt it is to roller set after trying it again after months. So i was thinking I could airdry/scrunch with some leave-in and aloe vera gel. Any one doing/done this? Results, tips, pics??? Thanks in advance. I'm going to try this next wash...

I do it with a creamy leave in. So far I've tried it with garner fructis leave and cantu leave in. You just put some in your hair while damp... not wet then scrunch with your hands until dry. imo, the gel is uneccessary and just makes your hair hard. with just the leave in your hair still feels soft. If you are doing it for the health of your hair, I think that doing a braid out and rolling the ends with a perm rod is actually healthier for your ends.

ot: your hair is GORGEOUS.

Thank you so much!!! So is yours!

Yea I was thinking the gel might not be needed except to smooth new growth maybe. I want it to be somewhat defined (the waves) but I also want it to look natural and soft.

I'm a 4A/4B and my wash and gos do not look as defined as a 3-something relaxed and/or any type natural. However, I still do them at times when I want a textured look. I put in leave in and some oil and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch my wet hair until it's damp. Don't comb your hair after you rinse out your con though, or you won't have much definition. If you want a defined, somewhat fail safe method, try a braid out instead.
