Help me ladies... I have to freshen up my highlights but I also need a touch up. Both must be done before vacation in a week. Which do I do first and how many days must I wait in between? I am assuming I should relax first and avoid applying a relaxer to color treated hair.

Help please!

Relax first for the reason that you stated, and because the relaxer could change the color of the highlights if you relaxe after.

When I was a permie, I remember the rule as being:

Always Color a relaxer, don't relax a color.

I'm w/candibaby. I had my hair colored then relaxed. As long as the two processes are at least 2wks apart (I like to wait 4) then you shouldn't have a problem b/c you're starting w/a relaxed head anyway.
