Hi, I'm starting from scratch. I have dry/brittle hair, crunchy ends, and it was last permed in Aug of 07, so I have new growth. I am willing to buy and try anything. Please, I welcome all suggestions. Please let me know what you do, and which products you use, to keep your hair healthy and growing. I will be getting a perm in about 2 weeks. Through reading various threads, I've decided (and have started) to do the baggying and protective styles (the updos). I put EVOO on at night and do a satin cap. That's about all I've started to do so far until I do my homework on how I will care for my hair and what products I will buy.Thank you all so much in advance.

Well welcome to the best journey of your life, MtAiryHoney!:yep:

It would probably be good to start with a very simple regimen that will give you reasonably quick results. Just shared this same regimen with a co-worker 2-3 weeks ago and she AND her beautician can see the results already!

Wash and Deep Condition 1-3 times per week (I strongly suggest atleast 2x)
Lighly towel dry ( just wrap towel around head for a few minutes)
Apply leave-in
Seal with oil
Air dry in braid, bun, or pinned up ponytail OR rollerset
Moisturize 2x per day (am and pm)

Shampoo: Cream of Nature for Dry & Brittle hair (green label)
(AWESOME and CHEAP! mildest detergent, honey for moisture, balsam for 'slip', milk protein (elasticity), aloe (moisture), and wheat germ oil + lots of 'nuts and berries):lick:

Deep Conditioner: Queen Helene with Ginseng (strength & moisture)
Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Pack (moisture)
Africa's Best Organics Mayo (mild-medium protein)
Lamur Bone Marrow (medium protein - good for shedding and breakage)
Elucence Moisture Balance (moisture)
Pantene Relaxed & Natural Breakage Defense mask (strength & moisture)

Leave In- African Royale Daily Doctor! :lick: (very moisturizing, use daily between washes):yep:

Oil: Olive oil, coconut, safflower, castor oil, sunflower, WONDER 8 OIL (All-inclusive & a yummy smell)

I would look @ the features of the month forum. All of the ladies there have great regimens, some simple and some...not so much lol! Either way, they're helpful, and you could take some of their tips and create a regimen all your own.
