To me the Smooth Down Butter Treat provides for a softer, sleeker feel than the Redken Smooth Down Conditoner. The Butter treat is a more intensive treatment and I liked it better than the Smooth Down Conditioner. It costs more though. I like this line but if I had to but one of the two conditoners, I would opt for the Butter treat.

The Butter Treat is a leave in. I love the smooth down line, I use the butter treat, the detangling cream (leave in also) and the conditioner, they work great for my natural, thick, mostly 4a/b hair.

This is a little off topic but, I was weary of buying a full bottle of the Redken products without knowing how good they would be, so I bought the sample sizes from Ebay. There are usually a few sellers on there that have the sample sizes or lots pretty cheap if you wanted to try before you buy the version.

There are usually a few sellers on there that have the sample sizes or lots pretty cheap if you wanted to try before you buy the version.

or you can just go to haircuttery then return it if you don' tlike it. .

The Butter treat is a treatment and can be used as a deep conditioner. I prefer the All soft line, but the smooth down line is very good too.

I prefer the way All Soft makes my hair feel, but I really don't care for the way it smells for some reason. I LOVE the way Smooth Down smells though.

gymfreak hooked me up with some All Soft Heavy Cream that I have yet to try. Hey I am going to use this as a pre-poo today. I forgot about about that product.
