Just wanted to chime in with some information. For many years I uses the generic brand of Redkin (sold at Sally's), until it was discontinued. It was my favorite moisturizing conditioner ever. I recently went to Beauty Brands where they use (in their salon) and sell all Redkin products. All of their liters are sold for $10.83 (usually $27) one time a year (for about 3 or 4 weeks). I purchased the Redkin "Extreme" conditioner. I almost purchased the Redkin "All-Soft", but I felt I couldn't go wrong with the "Extreme". In any event, with the sale the price is very reasonable right now.

I have.

My mom had a bunch of sample packs of it that I cut open and put into a spray bottle. I don't know. I wasn't real impressed but I normally don't need a lot of protein. It's supposed to be an excellent product though.

I have never used the extreme CAT Protein, I use the Extreme Deep Fuel instead. I love Redken products.. You should try it and give use a review. You could never go wrong with Redken.

I use the CAT Protein, and have been on and off for the last two years. I don't use a lot but rather spritz a few sprays and it works well. I bought mine at the local Perfect Look salon for about 13 bucks.

So I assume you can only get Redkin products in salons? I've looked around my little hick town and cant' find any products .

Hi

Just thought I let u know what I read on this. Cat proteins are cationic proteins.

From company advertisement:
Patented technology and cationic proteins to help reconstruct and prevent future damage without adding weight to hair. Key ingredients: Taurine for internal strength, Arginine for cuticle reinforcement, and lysine for protective resurfacing.

Recommended use:
After shampooing apply and leave on 3-5 mins and rinse.
This is not a a leave in but a liquid reconstructor.

I'm new and not so good at cutting and pasting items from diff. websites. HTH.

THANK YOU Rain, Thank you Rain! CAuse I was starting to have a Paris Hilton moment!

I use Redkens Extreme line, All Soft line and Smooth down line...love them and u can't go wrong. Love the ceramide technology. I've used Redken for the better part of 20 yrs!

I used the Deep Fuel on my hair today and I was impressed. I hate those little packets and would like a bottle of the stuff but it did make my hair very strong. I have not used the Cat Protein though.

Honeydew did you use heat with this or did you follow the directions?

I sat under the dryer for about 5 min.

You know, I am going to make this a staple. I am boycotting that Aphogee stuff that gets hard. It is just way to drying. It takes me 2 or 3 conditions to get back in order.

Well, I did this just before getting my braids put in. The true test will be how it holds up after "doing" my own hair afterwards. But my hair's elasticity was right back in order. Before the treatment, my hair had been overly soft and was breaking at even the slightest touch. After this treatment, I was able to really STREEETTTCCHH strands that had shed during the wash. I felt really confident that my hair was ready to handle braiding.

I did have to use more than one pouch, though.

You can order online. Here is one site: http://www.stuff4beauty.com/catalog.php?maincat=Redken Hair Care Products

I try to stick with those that offer discounts and free shipping. Ebay is ALWAYS a good bet. Sometimes Amazon has deals.

Here is another: http://www.aromamaster.com/store/cat468_1.htm

The shipping there can be expensive, but when they have free shipping offers the prices are GREAT!

You're better off getting the complete lines in the salons. I've looked in places like Walmart and they only carry particular products from the various lines. You can also use ebay at your own risk.

Thanks:)Another question- what shampoo and conditioner did you use? I am going to try the treatment after my next relaxer, but I think the Extreme shampoo may be too much protein for my hair. Maybe I could use my Elucence conditioner afterwards?

I always use the same shampoo - Roux Porosity Control shampoo. My conditioner this time was a cheapie - Lustrasilk Cholesterol Shea Butter. It was a perfect followup. I did have to use shampoo once after the Redken treatment. It kind of left an odd feeling on my hair. The Roux Porosity Control shampoo give me slip, though, so that's why I did one light lathering with it after the treatment.
