Rave: LUSTRASILK's Super Detangling Cholesterol

This has got to be one of the best inexpensive, yet super moisturizing conditioners - it's under $3 at Sally's. I bought it months ago and it sat in the back of my hair product cabinet until yesterday.

I'm stretching my relaxer to 12 weeks for the first time ever and have been doing CO washes once a week (what a great way to get rid of all these conditioners I've collected) followed by a Nexxus Emergencee treatment then a deep conditioner. I used the Lustrasilk as a deep conditioner with a shower cap for an hour, then rinsed and combined through in the shower.

I was amazed! I didn't need any other products to detangle my hair and was able to move on to Sylver2's scarf method (wave 2 Sylver2 - your method rocks!) with little shedding.

I'm now tempted to go beyond my 12 week goal. Whether or not I do though, I'm definitely repurchasing the Lustrasilk!

Thanks for the review and congratulations on stretching your relaxer to 12 weeks. The more you stretch the easier it becomes. I just stretched to 16 wks for the first time.

Glad it worked for you. I'm not a fan of cholesterols. They help detangle but they don't really give me any moisture. But I was using the Queen helene cholesterol maybe this one is better.

Cholesterols doesn't work for me either. I guess I will buy a sample pack and try it out.

Make sure you get the green one, with aloe. It has a very creamy texture.

Okay!!!!!!! I am so mad--just joined the NO NEW PRODUCTS CHALLENGE / Product Junkie Challenge yesterday! My hair loves cholesterol!!! Oh well--I am going to succeed on this challenge---I will put :Lustrasilk's Super Detangling Cholesterol on my---After Product Junkie Challenge Wish List

Ok I am bumping this. Because I agree with the OP. Granted I only used it once but I believe that this made a huge difference in my ability to detangle. I applied it a la relaxer as a preshampoo treatment (let it sit for about an hour with a cap on) and, went about my shampooing and deep conditioning. It was great!

Queen Helene sucks! I tried it once cause' I thought it was the same as the LeKair but it's not. The green LeKair didn't even do as much for me as the pink/orange. That's the one to try and keep a towel on your head for two hours wrapped up because you want it to penetrate the shaft of your strands other wise it's useless. Or you can get under the dryer for 30 minutes but w/out a dryer, this works ...the towel method.
