Random Thoughts: The Wedding Version

I'm so excited we have a wedding forum I don't know what to do with myself! I'm posting all over the place! Thanks again Mods and Admins :)

One day I'll be able to use the info in this forum... one glorious day.
 
I really wish people will either mail in the self addressed and stamped envelop or go online and RSVP. Arrgggghh
 
Well...it's final. We scrapped the wedding here and we are getting married in Jamaica....THIS year. I.can.not.wait.

7 months and counting...
 
Woke up today and realized I am getting married in 34 days! I need to finish the menus, place cards, runner, my veil, and wrap up the girls' gifts!
 
I'm engaged and so excited but I have no idea where to start!! Honestly, whenever I start trying to plan I get overwhelmed and just start doing something else un-wedding related.

The problem is, we have to be married and in our new place by August 2011!!!
 
So...I went dress shopping. I am torn...do I want a long mermaid dress for my bbeach wedding...or a shirt flirty...modern dress? Hmmmm...

I started a list of locations for my reception...er um party when we return. These people are not about to rob me blind....I am having a "party" that will be executed like a reception. :-).... More than one way to skin a cat! We have a bigger house to purchase!
 
Do I really want to have a wedding ceremony for our 20th anniversary or go on a 2-week trip? Decisions, decisions..........

Did you have a nice wedding the first time around? If so, I would take the trip! Maybe, you could renew your vows in an intimate ceremony before leaving or just the two of you while on vacation.
 
I really don't want to spend this kind of money.... Just started getting proposals from caterers and venues. We may just end up at the JOP.....
 
I don't understanding why I was invited to this wedding. I'm friends (not even close friends) with the groom and the bride hates that I'm friends with the groom. (She hates every female that is friends with the groom lol). Anywho, I was invited. With NO plus 1....


.... I do give great gifts though. I'd want me there too. Just sayin' :lol:


I may have to respectfully decline. I'm not going to stroll into a wedding full of people I don't know, alone. Who sends an invite to a single person with no plus one?


I'll still send a gift.
 
-I want to have a big fancy wedding in 2 years....my mother's excited.
We decide to have a courthouse wedding in 2 months instead...my mother could care less.

I guess what it's really about didn't matter to her. Should've just eloped like we originally planned.

- Really don't appreciate having to go dress shopping alone 2moro. People suck.

-I hope with hubby joining the navy we'll still be able to have our vow renewal in DR next year :/
 
Dark Angel....I have been dress shopping alone. Don't feel bad...I have seen other ladies alone as well..

I have a similar issue re: mom. we decided against a big wedding here and opted to go away to Jamaica instead. My mom is dissappointed...but she isn't paying for anything...so oh well.

Ok....so...we went to a wedding this weekend and H2B is very excited now. So...his mom told me it's time for save the dates. I have identified a possible venue for our recepotion...going to view it this weekend. If I like...deposit will be paid that day. He wants me to have it at a BAR?!?! are you kidding me?! No boo boo.

So....paid the deposit for the Jamaica wedding today...I will pay my half of the balance before the end of the month...then it is time for reception planning.

WHY are these photographers dragging their feet?!? I wanted to use an engagement pic on our Savre the dates...but oh well.

The date has jumped around so much! first August 20 then .... June 10th... then July 3rd Now.... Drumroll Please:



July 2nd!!!!! :-) Deposits have been made so..er um...
 
I keep hearing its our wedding and our decision .... if it is our decision then how come everyone send us these bogus requests and gets pissed when we say no.
 
My MOH is totally useless. All she wants to do is critique all of my decisions. Umm I'm sorry. Last time I checked, I was getting married. You chose a house that's not in your name over getting married when your bf asked you to pick. KIM honey.
 
I found my dress!!! Taking my mom to see her Saturday and likely order her then! SUPER excited now.

Still waiting on my Save the Date magnets to arrive.

Tell me about it! We went from having a large traditional wedding in December 2011, To having a destination wedding at the end of 2012 ( will still do it but as a vow renewal), to having a wedding next month with just immediate family only! Oddly enough, I'm more excited about my small 20 person gathering then i was about the huge (to me) 120 guest wedding.

Random though: I've sworn up and down that a wedding in the tri-state area cannot be done for anything under $15,000. I've now managed to do it under $5,000. WOOHOO! But man......planning a wedding in under 2 months is no joke.....no matter how small it is.

Yes, you can pull off a very nice ceremony etc... for 5K.


But..yea I had yet another change in date and location:

Original destination was Niagara Falls now Lake Tahoe. :yep:
And the new date is .......... May 26th. That's about 6 weeks away!!!

But, I have everything under control! :lol: all I cared about was that when the dates started moving around the final date would be sooner not later.

But, I'm happy! and there is no stress...weddings are easy to plan in Lake Tahoe. Destination packages make planning a lot easier.
 
Did anyone see the wedding video posted in OT set to the Black Eyed Peas song? Super cute....anyway, I browsed the videographer's other uploads and found this one. I am in LOVE with her dress! As a matter of fact, there are so many beautiful touches.....I keep watching it.

By this time next week I will be a newly married woman! I'm still waiting on a lace jacket I ordered on the internet. If it doesn't come in time I won't stress out.
