I wonder if I'm the only one that doesn't go to the BSS all the time, that has a few staples, whose cabinets aren't overflowing with "stuff".....

My Motto is "Less is More" :) I'd rather spend more money on good products that work for me, such as Aveda DR (my luv), than more money on crappy products. I also return or give stuff away if it doesn't work for me.

Most definately NOT a PJ.

My cabinet has only what I use. NTM, Rusk, Frieda and jojoba

Havent been in a BSS in so long.

I am winding down now and actually I have found my regimen months ago but I am always running to the store to buy something else when someone say that a product is good. I recently wrote a hair product list in word and I have over 100 items on there and I was going to initially buy every single thing on that list. My list contains things that I need to restock as well as new products. Well I went back and edit my list and only highlighted the things that I really need. My regimen is excellent so why mess with it Right? So I will only be buying things that I need to re-purchase. With the exception of getting some Qhemet heavy cream..I am no longer a PJ. I'm wasting hundreds of dollars for new products to just be sitting around:)

Thank-God, i'm not a PJ anymore, i've found my product staples, i don't see the need to purchase tons of moisturising cons and protein stuff, i'm just using one or two of each. I still have products i'm using up from my PJ days

 This describes me to a 'T'!! I ONLY purchase what I need now, WHEN I need it.

Girl both my hands are in the air!
I go to the BSS or the local Target/Walmart/drug store when I'm out of something.

I was briefly a PJ (like 2wks) when I first found LHCF, but that grew old QUICK! I do beleive less is more!

AJ, I gave a load of stuff to my family/friends and I have some stuff that I let my family/friends use when they're over my house because it seems that some of my family members/friends comes over to my house to wash their hair or use my maxiglide because they know they can't take my maxi NO WHERE...I spent too much money to let them borrow it and it get broke. (happened before):)

See girl, you are blessed to be a blessing... I see no waste here then... Great idea, I love giving stuff away too. Now about that Maxiglide <thinks if she needs one> nope! I swore off heat for a long while (except for the hooded dryer) whew see I caught myself! LOL:lol: I was about to dash off to Folica.com....

I'm definitely not a PJ. I don't run out and buy a product just because someone raves about it. I kinda stick to what I know. However, from time to time I do try a new moisturizing conditioner but only when the ones I'm using are done.

I'm taking all of ya'lls names down so when I go into rehab, I can PM for help :ohwell: Stop me, I'm about to hit a Sally's ... talk to me... take my car keys!! Tell me to do an Alma oil prepoo, a henna or sumthin

Just to clarify...while I am NOT a product junkie.. I am also NOT a product MINALMALIST...I dont know if I will ever make it there...:look:

I will still be spending about $200 in January to restock my products but hopefully that will last for about 6 months...:ohwell:

Raising hand! Once I found what worked (Aveda DR, Elucence, Kenra, Qhemet), I've been fine. I got a bunch of ish in my closet that doesn't work. I am going to give some away to the shelters and my fam.

I think I can finally say that I am getting over it. After my proclaim experience today, I think I am done running out and buying out the whole store. I still like to buy products, I will just transfer my obsession to something else. I have 3 or 4 more things to try (only because I already bought them) and if they are a success, I am done.

for now....

Not a a pj but I do like to try new things.

So now I just experiment with the stuff I bought during my pj days. To me the challegne is no longer finding the perfect product, its more about making the products that didnt work...work. For example, adding olive oil/honey to conditioners that didnt work, etc. or pre-pooing with conditioner before harsh shampoos.

There are some exceptions but I hate throwing away products and giving up on products that didnt seem to work. I actually am finding that sometimes I just didnt read the directions correctly. Or, I tried them during touchup time when my newgrowth makes my hair react differently then it would after a touch up.

Agreed.

I certainly don't run out and buy any and everything that's mentioned on the board anymore.

I do my research and do my best to make decisions about what will work for me.

I'm not a pj, but I think that my budget keeps me that way.

I have not found my staples, but if I buy something, I use it until it's gone. That's why I'm still working on my big bottles of suave humectant poo and cond, even though I'd like to try something else that is better. I have a ways to go, but I started adding the conditioner to deep conditioners to use it up faster.

I'm not a product junkie...I'm just on a mission. I have my poo & cond/deep cond/olive oil/Elasta QP glaze/s-curl/castor oil/and that's it. My regimen is simple too, which is why I don't have a lot of products
