Oh NO....I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I'm sure that with your positive attitude, you'll be back at BSL before you know it :yep:.

I'm sorry to hear this but your positive attitude is wonderful. Before length, health of the hair is always most important. You've been BSL and you know you can do it again and you'll be back on track with beautiful, healthy, long hair in no time! :)

Serenity Peace: Aooowwww... libras in the house! lol j/k yea i'll keep everyone updated. I P-R-O-M-I-S-E Glad to serve as an inspiration to some.

Lady Z glad to know that I am not alone. Its crazy. Especially to the newbies that are soaking EVERYTHING in.

OnaHairQuest: it gets and it got really bad. I had about 4 HUGE knots and tiny ones as well. Its not IMPOSSIBLE to comb through, but it takes a huge amount of time and then when u look at the floor when ur done, u see gobs and gobs of hair. My hair was already thin, so to sit there and try to get those knots out would have caused alot of breakage and pulling. Then to end up with like one strand of bra strap hair, ridiculous. So I just said f*** it and I chopped ot off.

ITA with the bolded. Sometimes it is best to start fresh. I would rather a healthy full short cut than damaged, broken off BSL.

I agree with everyone else, sorry that it happened to you, but your hair will grow back more beautiful than ever!

I’m sorry you had to cut it, but remember, if it was BSL before, it will be BSL again. And with all the wonderful advice you’ve learned here on this board, you can trust this time, it will be thicker and fuller and healthier!

Well it's only going to get even thicker and healthier from here on. You sound so relieved, great attitude to have. You'll have your lushious lengths in no time. And thanks for sharing your story it served as a warning for all PJs out there. I was going hog wild for a minute too...

Sorry this happened to you but as everyone else said you're hair will grow back in no time. On the plus side you already have a regime down pat:grin: You're attitude about it is great..I'd be boo hooing all over the place. I requested some free samples of the products you used because I saw the same post but now i'm scared to use them when i get them..:perplexed

It sounds like you are at a really good place about what happened, and for that I'm really glad! As you stated, you have now been given the perfect opportunity to start all over, and maintain that thick, blunt, healthy hair and ends. :) Way to grow girl!!!

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened to you but it's refreshing to see you turn the whole situation into a positive :yep:. I want to thank you, also, for being so selfless and sharing this experience with all of us so that we can be reminded not to experiment so much when we've found products that already work for us.... I won't forget this now.

Oh, and I look forward to seeing that lovely hair of yours grow out naturally. You've got this in the bag, girl  All the best!

At first when I saw the title of this thread I thought "dang.. is it that serious?" Then, when I saw u went from brastrap to chin length, I understood.

Q: When u shampooed did u pile all of ur hair on top of ur head or smthg?
Did u try detangling under running water? (That usually helps)

I'm asking b/c my hair can get really tangly too, but I will use what ever I have to to detangle it INCLUDING LEAVING MY HAIR IN A FEW DREADS UNTIL I FIND A SOLUTION. :lachen: :yep: I love my hair that much. :lachen: :look: But then, I have issues. :sigh:

Okay when I read the title of this thread, I gasped LOUDLY and my kids were like Mom, what happened? Didn't know what to expect....thanks for sharing that with everyone, you put my own setback into perspective in a snap. You are so right it just hair, and it WILL grow back:yep:. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL short or long. What rings paramount in your message is KISS and stop the PJ'ism. ***remind me to NEVA even think about trying plant shampoo :look:***

Sorry to hear that happended to you.

I also commend you for staying positive about the whole situation - realy motivating and I'm sure your advice about finding what works and sticking to it won't fall on deaf ears.

Good luck and I'm sure your get back to where you were in no time.

My hair is no longer brastrap, its chin length. I used some plant shampoo that someone recommended to stop shedding, and the PJism in me took over. My hair knotted up so terribly, i ended up cutting it off. It was shedding so bad i couldnt take it anymore. So now my once brastrap hair is now chinlength. I didnt even go to a salon, I just cut it myself and now i am wearing a scarf until I can figure out what to do with my hair.

I am not mad tho. How can u be when u have wonderful products like MN and Boundless Tresses. (I would have been heated years ago.) I am actually a little relieved. My hair is no longer shedding and due to the drastic cut, and it feels thick and healthy again.

There is a lesson to all of this. Dont let the PJism take control of you. STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW THAT WORKS. If you dont know what works, find something and STICK TO IT. Dont get all crazy like I did.

I am not mad at anyone, not even myself because i have been complaining about my hair shedding for awhile. I've been wanting to transition or texlax to regain thickness lately so this just made it a little bit easier.

I couldn't believe this when I read it and your attitude to the situation is just phenomenol. If that had happened to me I don't know if I would have handled it so calmly but this piece of advice is great. Stick to what works!!!

Your positive attitude makes me smile, and think about how I react to things.

Thank you for showing us all that something like this is not the end of the world. And girl, you are beautiful with long hair, short hair, or whatever!

Your hair will grow back fast and thick and healthy!

awwww.....sorry you had to cut your hair. I am glad that you are okay with it and that you feel better about your hair now. It will grow back longer and stronger now.:yep:

It is good you have such a good attitude about your haircut.. But as for the shedding. I recently had this problem.. even though I was pregnant at the time. I was losing hand fulls of hair. I had my iron done and I was really anemic. But once I started taking iron pills the shedding stopped. So just as preventative thing.. I say make you take vitamins for your health like iron and such.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I was just looking at your album - your hair grew so fast! But as you said - it will grow back and now you can go the texlax route!!!!

PS I love your attitude about the whole situation!!!! Your so positive!!!!!

wow. Sorry you went thru this horrible experience.

Its refreshing to me to see how positive you are about this. Now your hair will be even healthier and you already know that you can get to midback again.

the lession i'm learning from you... not every product is for everyone... and like any addiction, pjism can be harmful.

Happy Hair Growing!!! It wont be long til your back to where you were or better.

Thaks for posting your story, I am sorry to hear that you had to cut off so much- BSL-Chin length is quite a lot, but at least your hair is healthy.

GIIIRRRRL I know what you mean!!!! I started overloading Protewin when I discovered Aphogee Hard Protein, and by now I should be Mid back, but I am back at APL due to a 3" chop last month. I am SURE if I had just stuck with using my Cholesterol only as Deep treatment as opposed to Protien treatments EVERY week, sometimes more than once a week :wallbash::blush: I would be @ Mid back, or at leats approaching it. Last month I was BSL, Now I'm back to APL coz I cut off 3", But I still give God the glory- at least we have healthy hair!

You'll grow your hair back to BSL in no time, trust me BT is a God send (Big Up Naturallady!!!!!)That's what I am using to get back to BSL- That and Biotin 10mg, Kelp, Multi Vit, Fish oils and carrot juice when I can.

These kind of situations just make you appreciate your hair more...

You have lovely hair grl.

I am so sorry to hear about your setback, but you have a great attitude about it!!! I hope I would be the same if I were in the same situation!! That just shows the confidence LHCF must give us!!!

Now knowing all of the things that you (probably) didn't know before you joined LCHF, I think your hair will not only be longer, but healthier than before in not ime. Happy growing!

Lovely Locs: lol No i didnt pile my hair on top of my head I just shampooed how I normally shampoo hair down and all. Believe you me, I tried all that I could. I stayed underneath the showerhead and combed also. Didnt work at all. I actually started to detangle the knots with some conditioner, but then I saw the amount of hair that was coming out and just thought that it didnt make sense to hold on any longer. :ohwell:

Kiwi: Your welcome :)

Self Styled: lol yea, i personally dont recommend it. Im selling it Anyone want some almost full plant shampoo??? nah j/k I wouldnt do that to N E 1!! Its gonna hit the bottom of my garbage pail lol

Womanly Charm: Yes Ma'am!

Sha76: Yea I had handfuls of hair myself. I think I do need iron i remember my mother telling me that I should take it. Its just the... fact that its so hard to use the bathroom after I take it :lachen:

SummaBliss: Yea thank god for healthy hair. My hair HATES hard proteins, and I can't do the aphogee treatment either. I jumped off that bandwagon after the first try lol I will add vitamins to my regimen, I have my biotin collecting dust on a shelf. Gotta go get it. Thank u and thank god for nartural lady boy i tell ya lol :)

Jazzy 413: Thank u and you are so right.

Smarty Pants: lol Id like to think so :) Thank u. Its time for a change

sorry about your hair troubles, your armed with a enough knowledge to care for your hair, i know it'll be back in no time

Well that is scary, but I'm glad that your hair is much healthier because of it! I have been victim of allowing pjism take hold of me. As I am beginning to understand my hair better I have cut down a great deal! But yes, curiosity does indeed kill the cat sometimes :nono:
