I was reading in another thread that some ladies put some other sort of hair product on their hair in between the relaxer and neutralizing shampoo. I was wondering why and what you use. I am gonna relax this week and just wanted to know why...

Some type of protein. THey/we apply it before the neutralizer because the cuticles of the hair are still open from the relaxer and the protein can be absorbed better. The neutralizer closes the cuticles. HTH
