Quick Question: Is this true about henna?

I find that it loosens the natural curl of the hair, yes. I use henna once a month, and I can definitely tell the difference in my hair after a year of use.

This was one thing that made me want to try henna, I thought it would allow me to stretch my relaxers longer. But I think henna just makes each individual strand thicker after multiple henna applications. By making each strand thicker or "heavier", it pulls the hair and make the new growth temporarily appear looser. At least, this is my theory for my hair....:look:

Kiesha - I totally agree with you, and I think that is the mechanism that causes the curl to loosen. It seems like the finer your hair is, the more it loosens, and the longer you use henna, the more it loosens. It's going to be interesting seeing what my hair acts like as I go into year two of henna'ing....
