Does it contain protein? My hair has been breaking a lot lately- so much that I will comb it every 3 days. I was wondering if it was the mango butter.

Thanks

yeah it has silk protien in it. Elasta QP Mango butter can wreak havoc on your hair....I still use it, just not as much now for that exact reason. It got to points where I could barely even comb my hair

Listen to her, Mama know what she talkin about!

Yes, it does have protein. I rarely use it. If so, not throughout my hair...just sparingly on the ends, or if I really need to slick down my edges. I mixed mine with shea butter and EVOO. Its not as drying/harsh...down by 70%.

I noticed that it was making my ends super dry and crispy like. I also only use it around my edges to slick them down.

Wow am I the only one that never has a problem with Mango Butter, it leaves my hair super soft whether I apply it wet or dry, on my edges or ends.

If you want something with protien in it...why don't give EQP Breakage Control Serum a try with heat. I use this once a week before my weekly deep conditioning treatment to combat breakage.

Oh yeah when's the last time you did a heavy protein treatment to your hair?

Wow thanks ladies! I will lay off the mango butter and see if the breakage reduces. Vikkisecret, the last time I had a protein treatment was the first weekend in July, so I don't think that I need another treatment. I just texturized my hair in the beginning of June, and I have been having some breakage. Any suggestions would be appreciated

ok well CO washes help and deep conditioning treatments w/ heat for an hour once a week has worked wonders!

What kind of products have you been using for deep conditioning? I am really getting desperate because I was combing my hair today and I had a lot of breakage. I am so scared to comb my hair, that is how bad it is and I have a K- cutter comb too. If the breakage doesn't stop by next week, I will be putting braids in my hair

Well lets see...what is your weekly regimne??

CO washes (how many)
moisturizing (how often)
deep conditioning (how often)
light protein treatment (how often)
hairstyles??

-Combing thorugh dry hair especially if it prone to breakage is a no-no.Try combing through your hair in the shower with your conditioner (w/ no protein in it).Blot with a towel until damp and add moisturizers/oils/serums whatevery you use onto your damp hair instead. The follicle absords the moisture alot better.

Yea EQP mango butter makes my hair brittle after 3 days of usage. So now i only use it as a leave-in and apply it to wet hair. it works great, this way. As my daily moisturizer...i'm still faithful to UBH!!!

Well, This is my weekly regimne?
Monday- oil scalp- with WGO, sulphur 8, frenchees
Tuesday- apply castor oil and mango butter to hair
- comb then put in a bun
Wednesday- Oil scalp with MTG- I just started this
Thrusday- castor oil and mango butter and comb/ bun
Friday- wash hair with elucence MB shampoo and conditioner
-infusium as leave in
- air dry hair
- then flatiron and use Elasta QP as a heat protectant.
**I started to wash my hair every two weeks because I think the heat maybe damaging my hair, but there is no improvement. My hair is texturized, but I like it straight. I don't wear it out, always in a bun.***
I always -everyday wear my hair in a bun with a phony pony

I don't know.. any help please. I feel like I am losing all of my hard work!
