Hey Ladies, been thinking about some corn rows. I've read that they will mat. If I left them in for two weeks would they mat?

Cornrows without extensions?

I've gone 2 weeks with my own hair cornbraided without any matting. I really think it's all about how you care for hair prior to the braiding, during the braiding, and after it's braided.

Think about this too. If folks can take their decades old locs out and reveal healthy thick hair...any matting from two weeks of cornbraids can be CAREFULLY untangled.

It'll be okay. :)

It's highly unlikely that your hair will mat in just two weeks of cornrows. What you will notice is new growth and frizz.

i've kept cornrows in with kankelon hair for 5-6 weeks without matting. keep them moisturized with braid spray and they will be fine.

I have kept them in for 13 weeks many times and had no matting. BE sure to detangle VERY WELL before washing.
