is it a henna? is it natural or does it contain chemicals? can it damage hair?
Thanks in advance...

I have used it for 3 years. I think its a henna-like color. Doesn't contain any peroxide or ammonia. Not damaging or drying to hair. I love it, but I have opted to grow my natural light-medium brown hair color out from now on. I was coloring it Oriental Black (#59) w/the Bigen Hair Color.

Thanks for responding Jewell,, what do you mix it with before applying it to hair? and how long do you leave it on for? thanks in advance.

I'll answer for Jewell if that's okay. You mix it with water. Not sure how long you leave it on, but I believe about 20 minutes. I used to have a box. I'm sure it's buried somewhere in my product "warehouse." Let me see if I can dig it up.

Thanks balisi, have you ever used auburn or burgundy colours? if yes, did it take well?

No, I have never actually used Bigen. I bought a box of Oriental Black some time ago, and for some reason never got around to using it. I can't seem to find it now, so more than likely I got rid of it during one of my "product sweeps."

Balisi is right. I do just that.

I've used the oriental black as well and it is very gentle on the hair. You just mix with water and leave on for twenty minutes and rinse. I also condition my hair afterwards by the way den 1 your hair is so lovely and you are too. Keep up the good work sista.

I love Bigen. I use it. It's on my head now. But it is not as permanent as they say. My hair gets lighter as time goes by so I usually reapply to my whole head. It isn't damaging...in fact I would venture to say my hair feel better after an application than before.

you've really got me itching to get this dye now.......but i must resist, i applied a cream henna on a few months ago, so i don't want to cause damage. i hope to here from others who have tried lighter colours like auburn.
