Would it be possible and safe for me to get a relaxer (all of my hair is natural now) on Thursday if I'm taking out my weave today? Could I deep condition it today so it won't fall out or start breaking when I get it relaxed?

Most people advise that you strengthen your hair first, which means waiting a little longer after removing braids/weaves while you deep condition with a reconstructor (or a protein conditoner) and moisturizing conditoner. Remember relaxers break down your hair's natural structure so you don't want to do that when your hair already "a bit stressed out". It needs spa-equivalent pampering so that it can stand up to the chemicals.

When I transitioned from latch-hook braids to a relaxer, my stylist told me to wash and deep condition my hair and then wait 3-7 days before I came in for a relaxer. I had a shoulder-length natural afro, but the chemicals from the plastic hair extensions had to be washed out. My scalp also needed to rest and heal from all the detangling of the afro before the relaxer was applied. I waited 3 days and still got a small scalp burn from relaxing the virgin afro(none since during retouches).

My advice is this. Be sure that a relaxer touchups are the hair lifestyle for you. Wait as long as you can between removing the weave and relaxing your hair. Find a stylist who relaxes FAST, bases your scalp well, and won't burn you. Go in on a weekday morning (not weekend!) when the stylist isn't rushed and you're the only client so that his full attention is on you alone. INSIST on the mild strength relaxer, even if your hair is course or curly.

I would suggest waiting 2-4 weeks before applying a relaxer. Give you time to improve your hairs strength.

I agree. Strengthening your hair first would be a great idea.
