I use pure glycerin in my spray bottle after I shampoo and condition. My spray bottle has about 10% glycerin and 90% distilled water. You may have to fool around with percentages. Glycerin can be greasy if you use too much.
You may want to see how other relaxed women use glycerin. I have 4a/b natural hair.
I use glycerin right after I wash my hair. I pour a bit of glycerin (it's very viscous/thick) into my palm, add a little jojoba oil and rub into my hair and wrap a hot towel around my head to let it mixture really set in. Then I proceed to style my hair.
I just did this and my hair is still mositurized from sunday.
I get mine from duane reade (in the lotion section). I know some people get it from CVS also.
For some reason THIS is the only thing that has EVER (knock on wood) worked on keeping my dry 4b hair soft for this long. I applied this on sunday, today is wednesday.
After I rubbed it all over my hair, I also applied to each individual section when I was doing my double twists.
I also made a spritz with infusium, water and glycerin. I don't use it much except when I was to brush my edges up.
Well I haven't tried it for my hair! Now I think I will. I've been using it as a moisturizer for my skin. It's really good! It's called Oregon Grape by Nature's sunshine and it's 80% glycerin and 20% water. You can get it from herb shops.

I ordered mine online from Camden-Grey Essential oils. Phone number (877)232-7662. they're located in Miami. I got a 64oz container for only $8. Their prices are pretty decent. I got a gallon of castor oil for only $12 on sale a couple months ago; the regular price is only like $15. They usually have sales every month on certain items.
I think there is a synthetic glycerin and a natural kind. The synthetic kind is sold at drugstores often as a laxative as castor oil is. The natural kind is usually a vegetable glycerin and is sold at health stores.
Kisz4tj...I love that name!! Okay, how did your soap turn out?
I don't know if it is the same thing. Seems to me like %100 pure would be the same no matter what form, but on the other hand did they have to do something to it to make it block or liquid form? How is it normally??
Yes, I've heard that on this board. Glycerine and activators (glycerine based) can make the hair too soft and mushy like. Personally, I'm not near having 'too moisturized' hair.
Question, for glycerine users, do you avoid using glycerine when the weather's a bit chilly?
I live in a humid region and I don't rely on glycerin as my sole moisturizer so I don't have problems with my use of glycerin. The rare times when the atmosphere is drier..I'll change my water to glycerin ratio in my spray bottle to compensate. My hair has never been weakened from it or had any adverse effects.
Well, Im lovin what it does to my ends when I air dry
No more frizzy ends for me. Its great! I only put the pure glyc.on the lase 4-5 inches after I wash. I have a little mixed with oil, water, infusium, and conditioner as a soray.
