I've been transitioning for 13 months with weaves and decided to give my hair a break before my next install. I took down my weave, detangled with Mane and Tail Detangler. (I was glad I didn't have many tangles and got out all the shed hair, which was more than normal because of MT.) Then I washed, condish, moisturized and flatironed using a heat protectant. Everything worked out okay except I noticed my hair feels rough at the demarcation line and I'm wondering if this is normal. I noticed today when moisturizing my hair and bunning that it also tangles a little there too. Do you have the same experience? Well, my install is next week so I won't be straightening again, but I will be CW tomorrow so my next question is how do you get your hair to bun without straightening? After I washed and condish my hair it looks like a fro with straight ends. I can't imagine that I can actually lay this 4z hair down in a bun. Your thoughts?

Try a wet bun. I'm 13months post too and am usually always in braids

I would say use a leave-in and seal with coconut oil; tie it down at night with a silk or satin scarf.
