I did my last one on Sunday.

I'm just wondering how people do thiers, because this is the most hellish part of my regimen

Thank God it's only once every six weeks!

This stuff is pretty stinky, it's drying to the skin and I have VERY sensitive skin. It drips all over the place!

I've heard of people mixing it in with conditioner. Please tell me more about that! I have 2 big bottles left...

What kind of conditioners do you mix it in with?

Is it okay to wear a plastic cap with it if you mix it?

Do you still deep condition after?

Is it still a hard protein treatment if you mix it in with conditioner?

Should I do it more often if I mix it?

I have never mixed it. I do deep condition after the treatment. Aphoghee is the one thing I NEVER mix. I just think it's effectiveness would be reduced. Besides, I put oils in everything else!

I do this treatment every 12 weeks this stuff is hardcore so I do not mix it with any thing. I know some do every 6-8. I just do it every 3 months one time that is all this product is very strong.

What they both said.:yep:

I agree it is very stinky. It irritates my skin when I use it too.

But let it do its thing by itself. I put a towel over me and clip my hair up so that all of it will at least get under the dryer so that it can harden.

RZ~

I pre condition with yogurt, shampoo, apply instant conditioner, rinse then start the Aphoghee process.

Part my hair in two sections; spritz my roots using Aphogee in one of those Sally's spray bottle and comb it through from ends to roots. I end up using less; there is virtually no mess and the overall application happens much faster. My hair has not been dry/brittle since I've started doing it this way.

That is GENIUS!

Applying with a spray bottle would be much less messy!

i always follow the instructions but just a word of advice DO NOT pluck or arch your eyebrows before doing this treatment because when it runs down on your eyebrows it will burn like HELL

LMAO! :lachen:

Only ONCE I didn't follow the instructions to the last detail and my poor sister's hair started to lock. Then I had to get a fine comb, call upon the Detangling gods, and hope it didn't all break off. I freaked out and some of her hair fell out. I will NEVER do that again.

I have started to mix it with Nexxus Humectress, the conditioner that SamanthaJones gave me (I have no Idea what she puts in it, but it's great), or for the times I need a stronger application I mix with Mane and Tail Condish.

I wear a cap and DC for 2 hours under something hot (dryer, heat cap).

It just is too much for my hair when I use it alone.

See my review in my Sally's album and regimen album.

I've done everything from put this in DCs to SLEEPING in it overnight, using it before AND after relaxers, using it TWICE in a row and all sorts of stuff with FANTASTIC results. It's really amazing.
