Question for rollersetters:

Hi Ladies,

I usually wash and rollerset my hair once a week (twice at the most). I used to Maxiglide it for a straight look then wrap at night.

Now that my hair is getting a bit longer, I'd like to be able to keep the waves that rollersetting gives me. The problem is that I don't know how to keep the hair that way at night! If I wrap it, I end up with a poofy/straightish look. If I pin curl it, it's TOO wavy.

Can anyone suggest anything?

TY!!

i cant help you because i have the same question too..

what am i gonna do with my rollerset hair at night?

I asked that question in another thread. I pincurled and it was way too curly and among many good suggestions, I was told to wrap it to loosen but not straighten the curls.

I now create less pincurls (just 8) on dry (not wet) hair. This works so well for me and I love the way the loose curls fall. Also, pincurls are so easy to sleep on.:)

I put my hair in a loose high ponytail and roll the ends with a roller. When I wake up the next morning I either shake my head or use caruso rollers.

Sometimes i sleep in a low, loose bun.... at best, this makes for nice, soft waves the next morning. I can usually just finger tousle my hair in the morning to achieve this look.

But dont get me wrong.... at worst, my hair just looks curly and bent up in various different directions. So its hit or miss with this loose bun sleeping method. I never know what im gonna get in the morning when i wake up and remove my satin bonnet.

I sleep in one big bantu knot. It really does work. When I take it down my hair has loose waves that curl on the ends. It never fails me.

Kini....to prevent the bends try brushing your hair smooth and twisting it to the ends....kinda like rolling dough (that's the only example I can think of), then wind it around in a circle to form the bun. It's just like doing a bantu knot. It comes out smooth w/o the bends from just doing a regular bun because the hair is brushed/combed and rolled smooth before bunning. I know I was really bad at explaining this, sorry.

This is a bad pic but it comes out like this.

I wear 2 big pin curls at the back, check out my album, photo 3 in the Protective styles album for a visual. Its quick and easy to do and leaves you with a slight bend in the morning...
