Hi, I just joined and I am curious how often those of you who have a texturizer get touch-ups?

Also, any good products that you can suggest? I did a search and read all of the posts ther, just hunting for more info.
Thanks!

Retouches (revlon realistic - lye) for me are every 3 months or so. I usually just spritz with water/glycerin/conditioner and I'm good to go.

Wow. That' s exactly what I do. Lol. Or am trying to do rather...that's the relaxer I use and I'm trying to stretch my touch ups to 3 months. Last time I caved and went 2 months. But I still had a fiece amount of new growht!

CurlyCrly: Do you use the mild or regular?

I haven't had a touch-up since April. My hair is getting harder to setangle, so I'm getting one soon. I think I'll start getting them every 4 months.

I use African root stimulator olive oil moisturizer and Profective (the anti-breakage one).

Conditioners to rinse w/-Suave(coconut, humectant, awapuhi, vanilla floral)
Aussie slip
Deep conditioners after washing: Hollywood beauty olive cholesterol or African Roots mayo

Shampoo-Creme of Nature (dry damaged/brittle)

Any other suggestions?

I touch up every 5 months. 99.9% of the time, I wear protective styles. I like most of Profectiv's products, and I also like glycerin and serums.

I initially used the Regular for extra stretching of my tight curls in order to show more length/less shrinkage. However, the last time I used Mild. I'll probably continue with the mild from now on. I can go longer without a touchup, but I don't want to at this time. Once it's longer I will.

I use S-curl regular to make my life easier. I texturise about 3 times a year whenever it it is 'that time':)

My latest discovery is coconut oil which is an excellant mosituriser. For styling i use fote aloe vera gel
