I got my hair braided today at an African Braid shop in Philly. I noticed when the lady was done she was cutting the litte frizzes that stuck out including my own hairs frizzes

What does this mean for my hair? Do i have to get it chopped off when i take the braids out since i would probably suffer bad split ends from this?????

Help

nah, i don't think it means you have to cut your own hair. i don't even think it means you'll automatically have split ends. i'd just try that much harder to keep your braids really moisturized while you wear them.

next time, don't let them do that. just tell them "i don't mind the hairs sticking out. i'm gonna put gel on it when i get home." if they don't listen, find a new braider!!

She cut the uneven hairs that did not fully combine with the braid. It should not affect your hair much. I had it done in the past and it didn't make much of a difference. I agree w. Adrienne, next time just add gel mixed with a little lotion to slick the hair that is sticking out of the braid. If you used synthetic hair I am sure she cut mostly those little fibers that stick out after you braid.

Boy am i relieved. I was entertaining thoughts of me having to trim 5inches

(my hair is currently 8inches long so just think how much that would affect me). Thanks Adrienne and Moisy
