I'm just watching an episode with a black man with dreadlocks. They took him to a salon where they washed, conditioned his hair, then did a hot oil treatment. Has anyone done hot oil treatments in this order? How did it turn out?

I thought it was always in this order. But some people do them as a pretreatment right. Well I dont do hot oil anyway they never seem to do anything for my hair. Maybe Im doing sumthing wrong?

I always do my hot oil treatments this way. It wasn't until I joined hair websites that it can be done differently.

Yes, I've done it in this order, and my hair turned out fine (turns out fine for me in either order).

My hair doesn't feel greasy after rinsing it out.

Yes--I have and have gotten great results. I've even done hot oil after a protein treatment in lieu of a moisturizing conditioner.
