I can now make a puff and i was sitting in my bosses office and i could feel the head band moving i was thinking i hope the headband does not shoot off and pop him in the eye....so my question is how to keep it from moving and if i wear them 3 days a week will they damage my hair and does anyone else get a headache from wearing them?

I put it on my neck and loop it around twice and it hurts for about an hour any suggestions will be greatly apprecitated ....also i have an eighthead maybe i should not wear them because after i wear the headband twice its streched out of shape

I was a devout Goodie band user and I doubled them the same way but my edges were disappearing. When I start wearing puffs again, I'm either going to clip around my hair with huge bobby pins or use a scarf and try not to pull it too tight.

I've never gotten a headache but this is a common complaint. Mine also stretch out because my head is rather large as well.

I think you might be able to escape the headaches if you have more hair.. I push my band pretty far back. But yeah, try another method of pulling it back.. I think the tension from the ouchless bands was to blame for the disappearing act my hairline was pulling.

oh no i hope my edges don't pull that i am having a hard time finding styles i can do my self maybe i will just wear my puff in emergency situations

Flat-twists.. like in my avatar, are an easy way to style your hair. I don't keep them in longer than a week but it's low manipulation around the hairline because you don't have to twist tightly. You could also do cornrows on half your head but twists are easier for those who might be style-challenged.

Yeah, you should wait until you have more length so you can move the headband back further (past your ears and past the crown/knuckle of your head) to avoid the tightness and headache. See, the reason you are getting the headache is because the band is squeezing your head. You don't want that. You want the band to be around your hair to formulate a puff. Or if you do not care about formulating a puff, you can make a semi-puff by just tying a satin scarf band around your edges and wearing the back out. To avoid thinning edges, make sure the band isn't too tight and make sure your edges are protected with a product like grease, pomade, or gel. Hope that helps.

I don't like tight puffs because I'm concerned about my edges (I have a jacked up hairline naturally) and I don't want headaches. Most of the puffs I wear are modified puffs. I either use scarves to make a half-puff, like Poohbear mentioned, or I use about 5-6 of the ouchless headbands to form a puff--the large number of bands helps create the puff without the tension. My hair is so thick, you can't tell that I have a bunch of headbands in there.

Examples of both styles are in my album. HTH.

flat twist might be a little too complicated for me LOL....I just purchased some silk scarfs i will try to make one using them....more bands instead of looping them around that sounds like it might work ...i like the puff and twist out because i can do the baggie method with them ...thanks ladies
