Hey Ladies!
I know that many of us are trying to make sure that we are not doing Protien overload, etc... But I thought I would share the protien percentage in some of our favorite homemade hair goodies!!!:look:

http://teaching.ucdavis.edu/nut10/handouts/Misc/content.pdf

Protien Content of our favorites:

  • Eggs ( whole) 1 - 6grams
  • eggs (white) 1 - 3 grams
  • Coconut Milk 1 cup - 6 grams
  • milk ( any %) - 8 grams
  • LOWFAT yogurt - 12 grams
  • miso - 100g - 13 grams
OK - So - I hope this helps!!!! looks like a MAJORprotien treatment woud be yogurt.

Thank for this. I use coconut milk pretty often because it moisturizes my hair...but it appears to be a moderate protein. I don't think the protein actually penetrates my hair anyway but I could be wrong about that.

Thanks Sam - I've been a protein junky of late. I have stopped animal proteins for awhile to change up. Focusing on more penetrable types of proteins to add strength, like silk and wheat protein. My hair is is LOVE.

This is great! do you know how this compares with commercial protein treatments? Like would you compare whole eggs to Aphogee 2 Minute and Yogurt to the hardcore treatment?
