Hi, there's a good sticky at the top of this board that has a lot of information about the protein treatments. The sticky is a newcomer's guide to starting out. Basically there are different types of protein treatments and the purpose of it is to strengthen your hair so you have less breakage. There's a "test" you can do to see if you need a protein treatment. It's mentioned in the sticky about how to do it. Oh, you can make your own protein treatments (with egg) or you can buy them from Sally's or any beauty supply store.
