I'm natural and my hair only stretches to the bottom of my neck (I think that's where I am, not sure) but I don't want to straighten it yet because I just took a weave out and I need to baby it some more. I have A LOT of shrinkage. The dry winter broke my nape off and I'm now using shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie to keep it moisturized. I know it's working but it's still embarrassing to show. Right now I've just been wearing a thick headband to cover it but I worry because it's cotton.

Any ideas of what kind of protective styles can I wear? TIA

I wouldnt cover it with cotton that just soaks up all the moisture and causes friction and that will lead to more breakage:( I would go for PSing that hides your hair for a little while ie wigs so you can still wash, dc even baggy during the day. Hth

use a silk or satin scarf to tie around your hair. You can let the tails of the scarf hang down for a sassy look or tuck them in. This is my go to style for next day hair after I co-wash, since its normally still damp and poofy.
