Okay, so I've been pretty bored with my appearance lately, because I've been a very good girl with my hair, deep conditioning almost every night and covering it with a headwrap by day. Yesterday I finally snap, however and grab some "lights and brights" semi-permanent color in almost primary red, and put it on my hair -- which is experiencing moderate breakage due to a past heavy-duty protein treatment, one curling iron incident in a month's time and the fact that I'm a month into stretching my relaxer. In addition to the color, I put those flexible rollers in it, and now it's in a very Marilyn Monroe/Liz Taylor-esque wavy short style with unbelievable body and volume. On one hand, I'm in love with this look, but on the other, I'm somewhat worried about my ends being unprotected if I decide to wear it this way on a regular basis. The waves keep my barely shoulder-length hair off of my shoulders & back, but I'm still worried. What would be the wisest styling decision? Additionally, I'm worried about having to make a choice between continuing to give my hair the moisture treatments that it's in dire need of and keeping my new auburn color.

Desperately seeking good advice,
Selena

I think that if you would moisturize your hair a lot and your color will be fine. Doing co-washing with a good moisturizing conditioner your hair should be fine and you will be able to keep your highlights. POst some pics I want to see!!
