I am transitioning my niece whose hair has been ravaged by relaxers and improper care. She gets really bad buildup from individuals so I came up with this idea for kinky twists. I think it turned out pretty nice and definitely less stress on her hair.

You did a great job and fast too! My aunt is always doing my twists too! Next time, I may suggest doing them crochet-style!

Thanks for posting this OP! I really think that I'm going to try this style out after I take out my kinky twists. It looks like these will be far easier to take out:)

I love these, I believe Kellum posted a thread about these also. This style seems to be spreading, I think I'll be next :giggle:

You have to click on the link.

That's weird. The link wouldn't work for me at first. I kept getting a "Page Not Found" error. I copy & pasted the link in Firefox (I'm in Chrome) and it loaded fine :perplexed

ANYWAY. . . love this hair style! How long do they last? I think they would be even cuter as a twist out once you get tired of them.

Thanks Beans! I am guessing it will last 6-8 weeks. They should last as long as regular kinky twists. She is only 13 and she is getting tons of compliments so I think she will wear them out, lol.

the link did not work for me the first time, but i clicked it again and it worked just fine. weird.

where did you get the hair? those are cute. i like the shorter ones like those better, i think. and that is a nice thing you are doing for her -- i helped my little sister transition and she looooves her natural hair.

Oh they look good! What a lucky neice :) I'm thinking of braiding my hair up for a while...this looks like a good idea!

Those are extremely cute and budget friendly. I wonder if I could do those myself. I never had crochet braids...so do you cornrow your hairback and then loop the hair threw and twist???? my hair may not be long enough yet

I really like these. I will be getting me some as soon as my hair is long enough to cornrow. This makes me think of another style that may be crocheted as well. Thanks for posting.

Sailorife- Sure you can do them yourself. They are super simple, just as you stated, loop it through and twist! You can alays add a bit ofhair to your base braids.

It's the Janet collection kinky twist hair. I used two packs. I love hearing a/b young black girls loving their natural hair.

Looks awesome! I'm going to do this on me and both my DD's hair with yarn braids this week! They've been begging me to braid their hair but Lord knows it would take forever doing individuals:nono: They are both WL:nono:

I love yarn braids! That will be my protective style for summer. PLEASE share pics when you are done!
