I have texturized and demi-permanent colored hair and this morning, I'm going to put it into a straight style. I shampooed with my favorite, Humecto Detangling Shampoo and conditioned with Olive Oil Cholesterol. I have hair serum (Frizz Buster) and Leave-in Conditioner by Razac. I put the serum in first and then the conditioner and combed thru, is this right? Also, I've been air-drying so it's thick but looser curls at this point (I have shorter hair) -- should I blow dry first then flatiron, or could I go straight to the flat iron? I have a CHI flat iron so I've heard this is possible. I want to use as little heat as possible but I also want it to look smooth. Any tips would be great!

The sequence I use is wash, conditioner, rinse, leave-in, serum, then airdry in a ponytail. I think you can totally skip blowdrying and flat iron after blowdrying to minimize heat usage. Add a little more serum to the hair before it dries completely. hth

When I do my hair I use my leave-in 1st as my base to build on. Next I apply my oil to seal since I don't use serums. To get my 2 braid, air dry, relaxed hair straight I comb it, wrap it and then spray it with my creamy leave-in concoction (Giovanni's leave-in 80% with aloe gel 20%) to smooth down my wrapped ends. I then apply a little oil to seal and tie everything down with a baby du-rag or satin scarf.

I've read on this forum that some ladies flat iron air dry hair without needing to blow dry. Serum used as last step before flat ironing
