Well guys, my cousin sent me a bottle of the real jamaicain castor oil this weekend( really strong nutty smell) and I mixed it with a little jojoba, some grapeseed oil, and a teeny amount of rosemary oil and I applied it to my scalp with one of gthose bottle with the applicator tips, and I wrapped my hair and went to bed.

Oh my gosh, when i took my wrap out this morning my hair felt like silk how soft it was and it was so bouncy and full, I wanted to cry, if I keep up all the progress I have had so far, I should reach my hair goal and more by the end of summer. Im so glad I found this board, all the advice has been so helpful. Thnaks guys.

That's really great to hear candychild. Can you please tell me what the name of the castor oil is. TIA

Mine has no name, my cousin went to some herbalist/chemist in jamaica and got him to press the oil for me, It came in an old ketchup bottle, but its amber in color with a strong nutty smell

Thanks Candychild. My search continues. You shoud also try incorporating the castor oil into pre-shampoo treatments. You can mix it with other carrier oils to make it last longer. Right now I use the Home Health brand with great results this way. But you know the habits of a PJ....always looking for a better fix /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I plan on doing that.. I wash my hair every friday night so I will be bring ing some with me to the hair salon... I did mix the castor oil with jojoba, i used a very tiny amount, so hopefully the bottle will last a long time, but it was a big bottle at any rate.

I just found a link to what looks like the "good" castor oil. I posted it in another thread. I plan on ordering some of it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
