While in a beauty supply store I noticed hairdryers which were supposed to be proffessional and cost around $75. The wattage was the same as the ones costing around $20 but the guy explained that this dryer was the same kind as the ones used in salons and would produce the same results. Does anyone here have one? Is there any difference in the end results. Will a more "powerful" dryer give me straighter hair?

What was the brand name? I saw some in sally's today and they were $179. I've never seen them there before. Can't recall the name though.

Are you referring to the hardhat dryer or blow dryer?

I bought a Highlander Venus hardhat professional dryer from Sally's and love it. Others here also recommend the Phibbs dryer.

I tried every, single blowdryer that Sally's sells and didn't like either of them. I ended up buying the same blow dryer that my Dominican stylist uses, the Turbo 1500.

Where can I get a Turbo 1500?

For blowdryer's..it's not really about the wattage..it's more about the heat the blowdryer produces! I like Salano blowdryers the best.. they get really HOT!

I have been thinking about getting a good one too. When my sister gets her hair done at the hairdressers somehow they get it straight and flowing with only the blowdryer.
Then they just bump the ends.
Not sure which one they use but it has a comb attachment.
