Products to use with Flat Iron

What do you use when you flat iron?? I was wondering if I should use a serum but I don't want flat lifeless oily hair, and the consitency of most serums I've looked at in stores gives me the impression that is the hair I would end up having if I used a serum. Am I mistaken? What do you use to flat iron you hair, but have that just left the salon, bouncy shiny hair with body??

Well my old love was Beyond Straight by maxius - m new one is Moisture block by Sabino.

The key to using a serum is to use very little. I part my hair in two sections (from ear to ear) and apply a dime size amount to each section, then massage it in. You may need less depending on your hair, I'm APL and have thick hair.
