Product mixing, is it good or bad?

I don't usually mix with commercial products. Usually, I don't like something because it's too runny, or my hair ate it (like I never put anything on it) or it's too sticky, in those cases, there is nothing to add. If I'm adding, it's honey or a fragrance or essential oil. Usually, if I have to add anything to a commercial product, then I have no intention on purchasing that item again.

I do love to create and design. So, I've got no problem making a butter from scratch or a hair lotion or masque. If possible, I like to create a product from a kit, especially if I'm using chemicals and such. If there is no kit, I'll research what I need and go from there. It's a lot of fun and very economical.
